After receiving the new issue of Game Informer in the mail, I wasn’t sure whether or not I should be excited about this game. However, after reading the details of the vision (and how well it’s supposed to stick with that vision) you can color me intrigued. Sure, South Park isn’t for everyone but there are still a ton of people out there that still watch the show. I myself even stopped watching the show for quite a long time but have been recently brought back in to the fold over the last couple of years.
This is the first game that is supposed to be a true South Park game. It’s written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, everything is hand drawn just like the show, all of the characters will follow strict guidelines of creation, and it’s going to have an actual story. What that story entails is not yet known, but we are led to believe that you will be able to visit pretty much every inch of South Park (being created by Obsidian, on their Dungeon Seige III engine, helps add cred to that). Granted it may not be the best game ever made, but if Trey and Matt are the 2 behind the games creation you know that at least it will be the best South Park video game possible. There still isn’t a scheduled release on the game, since it’s still in development, but I for one can’t wait for this game to come out. Hopefully they won’t crush my dreams. I’m pretty sure that it will. From what they said, it’s not gonna be just monsters coming out to fight too. Supposedly there is going to be full on grade school warfare.
I read this article in the GI, and yeah it sounds neat, but really can you name one GOOD and I mean not just good for cheap laughs, but GOOD SP game? I think Ill wait this one out as well IMHO
If you actually still liked SP, you would probably like the game more. From what they said it sounds extremely promising to me.
That’s true, I wont say I hate SP but its for sure not my fave show. Only time will tell I guess.
