IllumniRoom, Because Your TV is Too Small

Microsoft Research Illumniroom for the Xbox

Microsoft and Samsung showed off IllumniRoom, which is being worked on by Microsoft Research for the Xbox. Yup, some worthwhile gaming news from CES that isn’t related to the PC. What is IllumniRoom? Well it combines the Xbox, the Kinect, and a projector to fill the room with images, going beyond what your puny “big screen” TV can display. It uses the Kinect to scan the room, and then uses that data to project images beyond the screen in real time. It actually looks pretty cool, but is still in the prototype stage at this point. Hopefully we’ll see more of it at the console show, I mean E3.

  1. Pretty soon you are going to have to have visitors sign wavers saying they are ok with being fully monitored in your living room haha…oh I just made myself sad.

It’ll be in the fine print no one will read. Also, it’d be weird when someone plays this and you see it through their windows. Night club in your living room.

Now to get a room with all blank white walls
