Cyberpunk 2077 Rumor Mill Kicks in High Gear

Cyberpunk 2077 rumors got new life last week when the twitter account posted for the first time in 4 years, with just the word *beep*. Now Polish site GRYOnline is claiming from two independent sources that CD Projekt RED will show off a new trailer at E3, with the game seeing some hands on play behind closed doors.

The game itself was officially announced in May 2012, with a teaser trailer launching in January 2013. That’s basically all that has been released about the game, other than tidbits here and there mentioned in interviews, such as the team working on the game was originally a staff of 50, but has since grown to be larger than that of The Witcher 3. Is this a believable rumor? I say it’s at least plausible, with the game being in development for nearly 6 years, The Witcher 3’s DLC being all released for a year and a half now, it seems like a good time as any to finally start talking about Cyberpunk 2077 again.

E3 doesn’t kick off until June 12th, so we probably won’t know much more until then. The Witcher 3 is one of the best open world RPGs we’ve ever played, and I’m interested to see what they do with this new IP. Especially in a post Horizon Zero Dawn and Zelda: Breath of the Wild world. If we do hear anything, like Cyberpunk Gwent, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we calm down from all the hype.
