Telltale was nice enough to send us a review copy of their second episode in the Tales from the Borderlands series.
In this second episode of the season, ‘Atlas Mugged,’ the discovery of the Gortys Project fuels a madcap race to find just what the Atlas Corporation was up to prior to Hyperion’s takeover of Pandora. Our intrepid heroes are not the only ones on the trail. Vault Hunters, Bounty Hunters, Vasquez, and a giant monster thing with a mouth that looks like a… well, you’ll see… are all in pursuit. And to complicate matters, Rhys is being haunted by visions of a dead despot AND what Vaughn looks like without his shirt on. Can Fiona and Sasha hold everything together? That’s up to you.
While the script still has quite a few good chuckles, episode two is definitely a “story building” episode and is not as action packed or moving as the first episode. Now obviously if you haven’t played the first episode already you aren’t going to be jumping in to episode 2 right away so by all means go pick up the season pass as this can only get better from here.
Voice acting easily takes the cake with all characters doing a great job of delivering their lines and jokes. Again I found my self playing along with joke more than playing the game as I normally would have. ENHANCE!!!. My only complaints this time around, aside from the pacing being a little slower, was that there seemed to be a little more bugs or graphical glitches this time around, nothing too major but still annoying. Also the only real puzzle in the game was dreadfully boring and easy, again not that big a deal but why bother at all? Literally walk over here and press X then walk over there and press X CONGRATULATIONS!!
My final verdict is lower than the first episode, but as I said episode 2 is just to wet out pallets in preparation with whats to come. I cant wait for the next episode keep up the good work Telltale
Seems like we had similar experiences with this months episodes.
indeed, fun, but not haha.
Yeah haha. I understand the purpose for it, but lacks the amazingness from the previous episodes.
