All your dreams of tackling GTA with 15 of your closest friends is finally coming true, on October 1st, 2 weeks after GTA V launches, for free, if you buy GTA V. GTA Online is not GTA V multiplayer, GTA Online is a separate game that uses the same engine and assets, and is free when you buy GTA V, but launches 2 weeks later and will be continually updated. Confused why it’s a separate game? Yeah, me too, but according to Rockstar, it is. Eric plans to spend his time fishing while everyone else dies in the streets. I personally plan on taking some ladies out on my P. Diddy style shrimping boat because the implication. Let us know in the comments that you plan to do with all this freedom.
Here’s the statement from Rockstar:
“Grand Theft Auto Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players that begins by sharing gameplay features, geography and mechanics with Grand Theft Auto V, but will continue to expand and evolve after its launch with new content created by Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto community. Grand Theft Auto Online takes the fundamental Grand Theft Auto concepts of freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and makes them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.
In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.
Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, and taking part in missions, jobs and activities to earn reputation and cash to open up new opportunities to rise through the criminal ranks. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.
Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V and launches on October 1st.“
Little Big Planet with guns and hookers! As dope as this looks I can only imagine the cluster of all the crazy crap going on at once. Now the hard decision is do I get it on PS3 or XBox….hmmm I wonder how many disks the xbox uses…?
Found out for y’all. According to Rockstar: For Xbox 360,the game will ship on two discs: Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to play the game and its online competent without any need to switch discs.
This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. The US must be USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use.
A new USB flash drive is “recommended to ensure optimum performance,” it said.
For PS3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and the game is playable as soon as the install is completes.
