I haven’t been very interested in Call of Duty in many years, instead favoring the Battlefield franchise. Then they announced a return to WWII and there was a little bit of hype. Then I played it at E3 along with Jason, and the hype was real. The inclusion of the zombie mode was more of a check box clicked for me, and I didn’t have any real hype for it. Sure, zombies is a fun mode, but I’m not jumping at the bit to play it. I’d rather just play one of the regular multiplayer modes or dive into single player if I’m being honest. Then Activision and Sledgehammer Games dropped the Nazi Zombies trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, and that changed. I need this. I need it now. Holy shit, the hype. All the hype. Before I go on, watch it below.
Yeah, holy shit. Fucking hype. I loved Call of Duty 1 and 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare launched the series to the blockbuster status it is now, but I don’t think I’ve been looking forward to a CoD as much as I am this one. I would say the nostalgia of returning to WWII might be over hyping it, but I’ve gotten hands on with the game, and it really is deserving of my hype. The trailer doesn’t make this look like just some co-op mode, but rather a full game in and of itself. Almost like a mash up of DOOM and Wolfenstein. Call of Duty launches on November 3rd for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
