Set in both the mid 2000’s and late 1980’s, Erased is an amazing mystery anime with a super-powered twist. The story follows Satoru Fujinuma, a young man who somehow possesses an ability known as “Revival” which sends him back in time moments before a life-threatening incident, allowing him to prevent it from happening again. When his mother is murdered by an unknown assailant in his own home, Satoru’s ability suddenly sends him back eighteen years prior to when he was still in elementary school, giving him the opportunity to prevent a kidnapping incident that took the lives of three of his childhood friends, two classmates and one young girl studying at a different school nearby.
Satoru has failed in his first attempt to save Hinazuki, only succeeding in moving the day of death, and gets moved back to the present. With the police still hot on his tail, and the murderer still making moves in the present, Satoru is in a race against time to find answers and prevent more death. Can he find the missing pieces that he missed in his first redo of the past and make his way back to save Hinazuki and the other victims? Find out in episodes 5-8 of Erased.
